Czarina Alexandra Crown

This is a one-of-kind crown created with antique wallpaper from 1907 by

L. C. Orrell & Company ofChicago.  This embossed wallpaper has flourishing

lines reminiscent of the Art Nouveau period.

Due to the brittle nature of very old wall paper, special care was taken to

preserve its beauty for generations to come.  Archival products were used

to stabilize the paper and adhere it to heavy paper. A sealer to protect

from UV damage and light moisture was applied as a final finish. Metallic

trims were used for the seams in the crown. Metallic paints were added to

enhance the fading lines in the paper.
